My name is Denise Whitney and I’m the creator  of the Parking Pal. I’m a mom of 3 boys and also work part time as an RN.  

My journey began in 2006 after the birth of my 3rd child. I found myself very stressed out in parking lots trying to manage 2 other kids while getting the baby in and out of the van. That’s when the idea of the Parking Pal was born. About 10 months later, with the help of my mom, we had our product in hand and started selling them in a local store. It’s been a long and exciting journey, but there has also been a few major bumps in the road. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after we launched the Parking Pal. She spent the next 8 months successfully fighting her cancer. A short while later, my dad got very sick with cancer and passed away a few days after Christmas. Him and my mom had been married for 42 years and it was pretty devastating to our family. Then a few years after that, at the age of 39, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. I spent most of that year in treatment. We made it through these personal setbacks and our business has continued to grow.  We have launched several new products including our very popular book called "Cars Are Big and I Am Small".   

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

My boys are teenagers now, and I’m no longer stressed out in parking lots. But my mission as a nurse and a mom is to continue to help kids everywhere stay safe!
